Pirate Battle - Battle by Ships App Reviews

I think this game could be great but whats holding it back is that there are not enough people online to play I have tried to play a random player five time and have yet to start a game. I do like that you can play solo or via Bluetooth or online. Hopefully more people will adopt to play this game.

I tried to play local single player. Once I hit Start the screen froze and wouldnt respond to anything. The only thing I could do was force quit the app.

its fun to play, just like Battleship when i was a kid. i do like the single player mode, nice and quick. live multi-player and chat are nice touches.

Its just like Battleship except pirate themed - as everything in life should be. Fun chat option and good gameplay, well done!

Real cool game! Finally a game where I dont need another player. I really enjoy the game.

Battleship - its a pretty classic game, and Im a fan of all things pirate so I love the theme - but this is the iPhone... lets spice things up! Perphase new kinds of attacks that dont just hit one space, or a spyglass that you can use every 10 turns that reveals a 4x4 area (though does not count as a hit). I also think that in 1 player mode you need to automatically switch from screen to screen, not use the popups that you have to okay at every step. Nothing worse than unneccessary buttons.

I saw this game before they added the single player mode, but decided against it because I couldnt play it when no one else was available. When I saw the update I purchased the app. I must say that it’s a nice twist on an old classic. The chat feature worked well when used. You can notify your friends that you want to play by other using the username or having their registered email in your device. Overall, lots of fun.

This is a very generic concept of games and they are always fun. The online component takes time but it adds a lot to the game, this is a great game and you should get it because no matter who you are you will have fun.

I didnt get it at first but i got the hang of it, its slow at times but over all its quite fun b/c of the multiplayer

Constant connecting to server messages and cannot even start a game yet. It would be nice if it worked.

I guess if it was my game and I read the reviews Id try to fix my server problem. Its a fun game but always trying to connect to server is ridiculous. This is the first app I rated because of how annoying it is not being able to play. And then you charge $1.99. Shame shame.

The game is definately a blast from the past. Makes me remember all the days of playing Electronic Battleship, I even broke the old dusty thing out and have been playing with my roommates. lol However the game definately needs a little work. 1. There should be an option to play only people whom are online and available to play now. Waiting days at times to finish one game can be quite annoying. 2. The game I feel would run much smoother if when it was your opponents turn it showed your board with your ships and once they fire it automatically switches to the other board allowing you to shoot back. Maybe a 2-3 second delay allowing you to see were they shot. 3. The annoying boxes showing when youre already in a game playing that person have to go. I understand the need to let people know that its their turn in a game that isnt currently showing on the screen, but why the spam when youre already in the game youre playing makes no sense to me. Other than these 3 things, I love the game and I play it a lot.

This could easily be a five star app, but the constant connection issues ruin it. Ive been looking all over for a words with friends type game, and this is it! Fix the server issues and WWF would have some competition! Would be glad to rerate if fixed. Edit : connection issues are MUCH better now! I cant say Ive had problems in weeks now, thanks guys! Love it! Keep up the great work!

One of my favorites.

Good servers for playing against others compared to Battleship. Good support with updates. Nice addition of single player mode. Only drawback is finding the one space rowboat can really drag a game on and on. If the boat were two hits instead of one, would be 5 stars.
